Cookies For Kaiser

If this isn't the American way, I don't know what is. When Kaiser the dog needed expensive veterinary care, his mom put her baking skills to the test and started selling homemade, organic dog treats on Facebook. They are reasonably priced and come in a variety of shapes and flavors. If you're going to buy treats for your pup (and you know you are), why not help save Kaiser at the same time. They're even cute enough to give as gifts. http://www.facebook.com/CookiesforKaiser

Catbitats

The owner of this business made a donation to a cat shelter even though business had been down due to the tough economic times. I think that kind of behavior deserves recognition. Take a look at these designs. This is a fantastic way to give your cat or small dog the joy of the outdoors without any of the risk. There are apartment-sized 'catios', large enclosures for the backyard and even a long, enclosed run that attaches to the fenceline. http://catbitats.com/

Moral Tales

Linda Moser, a retired school teacher, has written two children's books that address the issue of animal abuse. The first book is particularly timely in light of the increasing number of dogfighting raids. I think it would make the perfect gift for any young person or reach an even wider audience by purchasing it as a donation for your local library. As Linda says,  “The best way to end animal cruelty is to educate children when they are young. They must see dogs and all animals as living things with feelings.” http://www.moral-tales.com
